About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran, and Thompson Inc. as a Geospatial Data Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and maintaining geospatial data using the ESRI suite of products, with a focus on asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Geospatial Data Analysis: Review and interpret source data files, translate information into GIS format, and analyze complex problems to evaluate alternatives and make independent decisions.
  • GIS Data Maintenance: Review field-collected data, QC/verify using GPS and other mobile data collection tools, and update and provide maintenance to transportation asset datasets.
  • GIS Data Creation and Editing: Use Desktop ESRI apps to create, edit, and maintain vector GIS data in various formats, including file geodatabases, SDE, Portal, and shapefiles.
  • Map Services and Applications: Create, publish, and edit feature and manage map services in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS, and develop and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Geoprocessing and Scripting: Utilize analysis capabilities within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to perform complex and advanced spatial analysis, and develop Python scripts or use Model Builder to automate repetitive geoprocessing tasks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively and effectively with project team members and customers to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and communicate complex ideas and results in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning, or related field, with relevant coursework in GIS.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience utilizing Esri's latest suite of technology, including ArcGIS Pro and Portal for ArcGIS, and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Skills: Knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including geospatial data creation, conversion, manipulation, and analysis, and proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GIS Certification: Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of two years of experience delegating tasks and reviewing other team members' work, and working independently on complex tasks.
