Job Summary

ESC's premier healthcare client is seeking a skilled Medical Records Specialist to join their organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical coding, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, or Trauma Registries.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently collect and enter trauma patient data into the trauma registry.
• Assist with the development, assembly, revision, and distribution of trauma committee minutes, forms, orders, manuals, reports, and policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service and answer telephone calls with a pleasant voice and proper identification of self and department.
• Assist with organizing professional outreach education programs and complete data collection and entry in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain all reference materials necessary for trauma registry coding and abstracting and assist with registry reports as requested.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience with medical coding, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, or Trauma Registries.
• American Trauma Society Trauma Registrar Course certification or equivalent provided by a state trauma program.
• Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) certification from the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM).
• High School Diploma and Licensed Practice Nurse certifications in the state of South Dakota are preferred.
• Medical Records Coder certifications are preferred.
