Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cowboy to join our team at Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT in Nebraska. As a key member of our feedyard operations, you will be responsible for overseeing herd health, managing a crew of 7-10 full-time cowboys, and coordinating cattle movement and shipping/receiving activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of cowboys to ensure optimal herd health and productivity
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve animal health and welfare
  • Coordinate with other department heads to achieve maximum results
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the cowboy crew to ensure smooth operations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in feedyard operations and animal health management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Knowledge of cattle health and welfare best practices
