POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Cardiac Care Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing services to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This role involves active participation in collaborative decision-making, committee involvement, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality of care. The nurse operates with a degree of autonomy and may take on educational and leadership roles within the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate and execute individualized care plans that incorporate methods to achieve anticipated health outcomes.
- Facilitate coordinated care efforts alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Engage in patient education to foster health awareness and safety practices.
- Assess and monitor patient advancements towards established health goals.
- Uphold ethical and proficient nursing practices.
- Incorporate current evidence and research into clinical practice.
- Demonstrate effective communication across all professional interactions and exhibit leadership within the healthcare environment.
- Work collaboratively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal care delivery.
- Leverage appropriate resources to provide safe, effective, and economically viable nursing services.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the relevant state.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from recognized organizations.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows operating systems.
- Newly graduated RNs may qualify for participation in a structured residency program.
