About the RoleThe Director, Sales & Merchandising will be responsible for developing and coaching Independent Owner/Operators (IOs) of all Grocery Outlet stores within an assigned region. This role will focus on supporting the efforts of the Operators in the areas of store sales and merchandising, store appearance, marketing, and profitable business growth.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement annual business plans with IOs to enhance and develop the Owner-Operator model.
- Foster strong relationships between IOs and Grocery Outlet Inc.
- Encourage open dialogue between IOs and the company to improve overall profitability and success.
- Support the execution of chain, regional, and local marketing efforts.
- Develop new sales and merchandising strategies to drive business growth.
- Evaluate region and store performance, and provide coaching and recognition as needed.
- Strive for excellence by raising the level of standards of performance, ensuring proper presentation, merchandising, and pricing of GOI inventory.
- Assist IOs in complying with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Evaluate the readiness of Aspiring Operators in Training (AOTs).
We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $140,000 annually, plus an annual bonus program, equity, 401(k) profit sharing, and a comprehensive benefits package.
About YouWe're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. You should have 5+ years of retail management experience, with 3+ years in a multi-unit role preferred. You should also be able to reside in or relocate to Oregon and have the ability to travel 50-70% to stores, regional meetings, and corporate offices.
