We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Resident to join our dynamic Medical-Surgical Unit at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. As a RN Resident, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and expertise in providing patient-centered care to our adult population.

About the Role

As a RN Resident on our Observation Unit, you will work alongside an experienced team of caregivers to deliver safe, quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse;
  • Participating in a residency core curriculum to develop individual learning plans;
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to establish priorities for patient care;
  • Responding to data indicating risk to patients' health and taking corrective action; and
  • Documenting patient information in medical records.
Requirements

To be successful as a RN Resident, you must possess excellent assessment skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing;
  • A current state license as a Registered Nurse;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association;
  • New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience;
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Physical stamina to perform job duties, including standing, walking, and lifting patients;
  • Adaptability to changing situations and priorities;
  • Continuous learning attitude and desire to advance nursing practice.
