MRI Technologist - PRN Job Description

As a skilled MRI Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality MR studies. Your expertise will be essential in communicating effectively with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers in a mobile environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications, using aseptic injection techniques, and overseeing remote MR Technologist Assistants.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images by operating multiple MR systems.
  • Develop strong communication skills to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists to ensure seamless operations.
  • Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants on-site and remotely.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Technologist by the ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMDS.
  • MR Registered Technologist R.T. (MR) ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • Technologist registered in other modalities.
  • State license.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Technologists performing mid-day moves.
  • The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • All candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Local travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport. They will be exposed to a strong magnetic field and may be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases when interacting with patients.

More than 50% of the time:

  • Sit, stand, walk.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
  • See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Climb and balance.
  • Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or examination.
