Drilling Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team at SME. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting our lead Driller in completing assignments using various drilling and sampling techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Assist and work with a lead Driller to complete assignments using various drilling and sampling techniques, including lifting and other manual work as required.
- Perform specialized and intricate tests on construction materials and components to verify quality standards are consistently met.
- Prepare detailed reports that encompass complex field observations, precise test results, and sophisticated analysis of construction processes.
- Work with Driller Mentor and traffic control subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Work safely and alert others to potential safety hazards.
- Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex construction challenges efficiently.
- Use construction technology tools and software to streamline data collection, reporting, and project management processes.
- Take an active role in training and developing junior staff members, fostering their growth and expertise in the construction field.
- Basic construction competencies, including the ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps.
- Has a general aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
- Collaborative spirit to work effectively in a team environment, supporting colleagues, clients, and contributing to project goals.
- Proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks, seeking opportunities for improvement, and contributing innovative ideas to enhance processes.
- Accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
- Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting and carrying equipment, working in various weather conditions, and traveling to different locations.
