Job Title: Special Education Teacher - Life Skills

Assessment Intervention Management (AIM) is a leading provider of education services, committed to delivering high-quality support to students with special needs. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher - Life Skills to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Teacher - Life Skills will be responsible for providing individualized education programs (IEPs) to students with special needs, focusing on life skills development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs, focusing on life skills development.
  • Teach small groups and individual students, adapting lessons to meet their unique needs.
  • Assess student progress, track data, and make informed decisions to maximize achievement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure student success.
  • Prepare students for transition to the next grade level or after graduation, implementing state learning standards and assessments.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans and track student progress through formal and informal assessments.
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting character development and a sense of community.
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Valid Certification in Special Education and content area.
  • Experience in a Special Education classroom setting, preferably in a Life Skills program.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
  • Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations, frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
