Friendship Community is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating the capabilities of individuals with intellectual disability and autism. We are seeking a part-time Art Instructor to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to our artists.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the varying skill levels of our artists, incorporating themed projects and classes that focus on specific mediums.
- Share specialized art skills with our artists, teaching basic strategies such as composition, professionalizing work, and self-presentation as artists.
- Observe and support the health and safety of our artists, administering medications as necessary and communicating any changes in health or behavior to the Studio Nurse, Studio Manager, Gallery Manager, or Director of Operations.
- Art degree or art instruction background desired, but other relevant experience may be considered.
- 1 year of experience in art instruction and working with adults with intellectual disability and autism.
This is a part-time position with varying days and hours from 8:00AM to 4:30PM. The work setting is in-person, and the salary is $14.50 per hour.
