We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our Emergency Department team at Northwest Florida Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care, including administering medications, obtaining specimens, and performing treatments with minimal supervision.
- Assesses patients and reports normal/abnormal findings to physicians.
- Administers medications safely as ordered and maintains accurate documentation on nurse's notes, flow sheets, and graph sheets.
- Reassesses patients based on specific policy for the clinic and maintains knowledge of medications and their correct administration.
- Maintains the housekeeping and maintenance of the patient's environment and empties trash from the patient's room at the end of each day.
- Recognizes and documents significant changes in patient's condition and responds with nursing action according to standard nursing practice.
- Accurately reports pertinent information to physicians concerning patient care, including changes in condition or behavior of patients.
- Participates in orientation of new associates to the clinic and attends unit and professional conferences and in-services.
- Organizes and prioritizes activities for proper balance of patient care assignments and documentation within the shift.
- Completes mandatory certifications annually prior to evaluation and assures that all records and physician orders are signed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current registration to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the State of Florida.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS and PALS certification recommended.
- Computer skills.
