Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health seeks a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a vital member of our healthcare staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in a dynamic environment.
About the RoleThis full-time position is based in the Lancaster area and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for visits by using standardized rooming procedures
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed by providers, following established protocols
- Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams
- Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests
- Remove sutures and change dressings as needed
- Provide clinical advice via phone or electronic correspondence, adhering to established triage protocols
- Consult with providers or licensed nurses on questions or information outside established protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification from an accredited institution preferred
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire
- Valid driver's license required for regional positions
- Ability to travel regularly to various sites within the region for operational support
