As a Registered Nurse Preceptor at Carilion Clinic, you will play a vital role in the orientation and continuing education of our staff. This position requires a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills to effectively mentor and guide new employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized orientation plans in collaboration with the Education Consultant.
- Assist with the documentation of orientation records and competency validation.
- Provide timely and ongoing feedback to orientees, Education Consultants, and Managers.
- Assist with the annual learning needs assessment on the unit.
- Coordinate department continuing education initiatives.
- Ensure the annual completion of competency validation for staff as required.
- Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing from an accredited college.
- Experience: Two years' experience in a clinical discipline is required.
- Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. BSN is preferred. Obtain CPR and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
- Computer skills: Proficient in electronic medical records (EPIC).
