Pharmacist - Akron/Canton

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Pharmacist to join our team at Giant Eagle Inc. As a key player in our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for building relationships with patients, providing safe and efficient care, and exceeding their needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform all supporting duties to contribute to the safe and efficient dispensing of patient orders, including data entry, selecting and counting medication, and performing double checks on prescriptions.
• Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging, and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding patient needs, including counseling and problem-solving.
• Adhere to all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
• Maintain a neat and sterile work environment to ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Review service and business metrics and assist the team in developing action plans to improve outcomes.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by submitting online orders, adding and adjusting order points, quantities, and on-hand counts in the computer, and submitting orders to outside vendors for products and supplies.
• Assist the manager in providing an optimal team and patient experience by delegating work assignments and efficiently using supplies and equipment.
• Assist in mentoring and training new team members in the pharmacy.
• Plan and assist in executing store/community outreach programs to improve the patient experience.
• Communicate current events or alerts/changes in the practice of pharmacy to the team.
• Assist team members with tasks to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Complete daily and weekly reports, process required forms and documents, and communicate any further coaching or training needed to prepare for the pharmacist role.
• Perform regular duties of a Pharmacy Technician/Service Technician as needed.
