Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform a range of diverse administrative activities, serving as a central point of liaison with other departments and external constituencies.
  • Utilize knowledge and understanding of operational issues to create, compose, and edit technical and administrative correspondence and documentation.
  • Assist in administrative problem solving, program/project planning, development, and execution of stated goals and objectives.
  • Research information, compile statistics, and gather and compute various data; prepare special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries.
  • Monitor, reconcile, and assist with fiscal administration, including budgets, funding, grants, contracts, payroll, employment, travel, and purchasing.
  • Provide and/or oversee support activities, such as answering telephones, resolving problems and inquiries of visitors, reviewing and controlling incoming and outgoing correspondence, and follow-up on operational commitments.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars; schedule, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, facilities usage, events, and travel arrangements.
  • Establish, update, and maintain unit's files, inventories, and records; implement and maintain data management systems.
  • Lead and guide the work of lower-level staff, and supervise student employees as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Education: diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or closely related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Substitution allowed: any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages.
