- Support Student Transitions: Support students in preparation for grade transitions and preparing for life skills.
- Assess Student Skills: Assess students' skills and educational needs and track student's performance.
- Communicate with Stakeholders: Discuss students' progress with their other teachers and communicate with parents to maintain positive relationships.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
- Certification: Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
- Experience: Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
- Certification: State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
- Certification: State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
- Certification: State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
- Professional Standards: Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Training: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Health and Safety: Current CPR if applicable, TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable, Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Confidentiality: Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language required.
- Computer Skills: Computer proficiency required.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
