ASC's Nurse Aide Training initiative is a compensated employment opportunity open to anyone interested in becoming a Certified Nurse Aide. No prior experience is necessary; you will complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of hands-on clinical training to qualify as a CNA. Upon finishing the CNA program, various pathways and opportunities will be available for those looking to advance their nursing careers.

Your Responsibilities and Impact at American Senior Communities:
  • Assist in preparing resident beds.
  • Safely transport residents in wheelchairs to activities, dining areas, and therapy sessions.
  • Distribute clothing protectors to residents during meals.
  • May assist with setting up dining tools for coffee and beverages.
  • Deliver food trays to residents without assisting with feeding.
  • Ensure clean ice water pitchers and cups are provided and filled in each resident's room at least once per shift.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and order in the unit, including cleaning pantry areas, utility rooms, wheelchairs, and bedside tables.
  • Keep residents' personal care items organized in bags.
  • Transport soiled clothing to laundry or for repair.
  • Fill linen carts and distribute linens to residents.
  • Participate in or assist with resident activities.
  • Promptly report any unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Adhere to the company's privacy practices regarding resident and employee records, as well as all relevant state and federal privacy laws, including HIPAA.
  • Follow guidelines for the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by Bloodborne Pathogens Standards. All necessary PPE will be provided and maintained.
  • Exhibit teamwork and consistent attendance to ensure quality care and services for our residents.
  • Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to residents, family members, customers, and staff.
