Bee Sweet Citrus, a leading grower, packer, and shipper of citrus in California's Central Valley, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Scout to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural scouting team, you will be responsible for traveling between our ranches, inspecting traps, collecting samples, and assisting PCA's with field checking and pest identification.
About the JobThis role requires at least 1 year of experience in scouting, with a valid California driver's license and a clean DMV record. You will work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and management. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically under pressure will be essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare traps for placement in the fields
- Inspect and monitor traps weekly
- Collect soil, fruit, tissue, and other samples
- Assist PCA's with field checking, pest and weed identification, writing recommendations and fertilization plans
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently and in a team setting
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
- Must be able to think rationally and apply logic during high-stress situations
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and move heavy objects
- Must be able to work both inside and outside conditions, frequent exposure to heat, cold, adverse weather, greases, oils, noise, chemicals, and work in and around moving vehicles
- $20-$25 per hour
