Job Title: Nutrition Aide

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nutrition Aide to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Aide will be responsible for the Nutrition Component for the center, ensuring all guidelines are met, records are kept, and enough servings are provided for each child and adult. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport food to the Head Start Center or prepare meals and snacks in centers that cook.
  • Ensure the nutrition component is implemented in accordance with Head Start guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory of kitchen equipment and products.
  • Assist in the implementation of lesson plans and participate in overall cleaning of the classroom.
  • Observe, record, and report any child's behavior, sharing information appropriately with other staff members.
  • Attend all trainings and meetings as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some experience working with pre-school children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and interact with children on their level.
