Behavioral Health Care Specialist

Join our team at Mental Health Resource Center as a Behavioral Health Assistant, providing direct care to children, adolescents, and adults in our inpatient behavioral health units.
Job SummaryAs a Behavioral Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for our patients. You will assist in providing crisis stabilization services and work closely with our team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Monitor patient behaviors and document observations in the patient record.
- Provide ongoing attention and interaction with patients to establish supportive relationships and learn patient concerns and goals.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living skills (ADLs) in accordance with age, cultural consideration, and level of functioning.
- Implement the daily schedule to meet patients' needs and interests.
- Perform safety checks at regular intervals and supervise patients during fresh air breaks and visitation periods.
- Remain knowledgeable of admission/discharge status, patient level and privileges/restrictions, special information, treatment plan, and unusual events.
- Perform and document vital signs on patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic (PMD) certification is preferred.
- One year of experience working in direct patient care is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential for interacting with internal and external customers, including patients, families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff, and other department professionals.
This is a part-time position working every other Saturday and Sunday, with varying shifts at MHRC North and MHRC South locations.
