**The Opportunity**

As the Manager, Database Administration, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of our database systems. You will lead a team of Database Administrators while ensuring our databases operate smoothly and efficiently to support Chipotle's evolving technological needs.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead a team of Senior and Lead database administrators to provide strategy, direction, coaching and support while fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and high performance.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for database architecture and scalability to support the company's growth and technological advancements.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts for tools and managed services provided within budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaborate with partners in cross-functional departments to include Application Development, Site Reliability, Cloud Engineering, and Data & Analytics to optimize performance of our database systems.
  • Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators, ensuring high database uptime, robust backup and recovery processes, and strong security compliance.
  • Take ownership of incident response by working closely with Incident Managers and Change Advisory Boards to continuously improve our database and security posture.
  • Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices, incorporating them to maintain industry leading standards.

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of database management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience with a proven track record of managing and maintaining high performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to think critically and manage through problem solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Cosmos DB, ADF, and Snowflake along with associated tools.
  • Experience with Azure and other cloud-based database solutions.
  • Deep understanding of database security best practices.
  • Ability to review and optimize database queries, DDLs and DMLs for performance and stability.
  • Utilize tools such as Splunk, SQL Sentry, Redgate, Datadog and others to maintain top performance in the environment.

**What We Offer**

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $112,000.00–$155,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
