As a key member of the Mechanical Engineering Directorate, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, communication, and combat system equipment.
Job Summary:The Senior Mechanical Engineer will perform complex interconnect solutions for above and below sea combatant platforms, mobile and stationary ground platforms, missile, manned/unmanned programs across all platforms, and onsite support. This role requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with expertise in design, development, and integration of various interconnections and wiring disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop interconnect solutions for complex systems
- Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and production of mechanical hardware
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and electrical systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Ensure compliance with military and commercial codes and standards for cabling and interconnects design
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in interconnect design and CREO/CAD design tool
- Experience with manufacturing within interconnect domain, including interconnect manufacturing and/or field troubleshooting
- Experience with component military specifications, standards, test specifications, QPLs and/or QMLs associated with connectors, coaxial cables, multi-conductor cables, interconnection cable & wire and/or fiber-optic cables
- Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
