Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities by managing and executing maintenance-related tasks on a daily basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds promptly to maintenance requests, acting as the primary troubleshooting technician before escalating issues. Takes necessary actions to resolve problems related to equipment and furniture upkeep, electrical systems, lighting, HVAC, workplace safety, and general maintenance needs. Collaborates with third-party vendors as required, ensuring thorough documentation in the work order system from initiation to completion. Assists with office space arrangements, including moving boxes, furniture, and filing cabinets.
  • Oversees the organization and supply management of breakrooms, storage areas, and common spaces. Monitors inventory levels and coordinates the procurement of necessary goods and services to fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Supports the identification and resolution of safety concerns. Monitors workplace conditions and reports potential hazards to management, submitting appropriate documentation as needed. Promotes a culture of safety by actively participating in safety drills and exercises, and conducting routine facility inspections to identify safety issues.
  • Provides assistance with facilities-related systems and projects, including maintenance and upgrades. Supports fleet vehicle maintenance as necessary and communicates changes in asset locations while assisting with condition assessments.
  • Offers support for catastrophe operations as required by business continuity plans and assists with related testing.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with office procedures and practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fundamental arithmetic skills.
  • Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new skills and systems efficiently.
  • Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and operational needs.
  • Understanding of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and support emergency operations as needed.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED (mandatory).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and capability to operate company vehicles in accordance with policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with general office operations and maintenance terminology, including trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
  • Two or more years of experience in a facilities maintenance role within an office setting.
  • Proficient understanding of office operations and maintenance terminology.
  • Experience in interpreting floor plans.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional stationary position.
  • Continuous movement and traversal.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent ascension and descension as well as traversing various surfaces.
  • Continuous communication and interaction with team members.
  • Regular inspection and assessment of facilities.
  • Frequent transportation and installation of equipment and supplies.
  • Exposure to various working conditions.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
