Job Summary:

In the capacity of a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and conducting fire suppression operations. This role requires a strong understanding of firefighting techniques, medical procedures, and emergency response protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to those in need.
  • Conduct fire suppression operations, including extinguishing fires and rescuing individuals from burning buildings.
  • Participate in regular training exercises to maintain and improve skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness and adhere to departmental standards.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, be licensed as a Paramedic, and hold a Basic Operations Firefighter Certification issued by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. Additionally, you must be able to obtain a non-CDL Class B vehicle operator's license within 12 months from date of hire.
