We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Systems Specialist to join our team at McLane Company. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for optimizing our transportation network to minimize delivery times and costs while improving logistics tracking, execution, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement efficient transportation routing strategies using provided routing software.
- Create and maintain accurate data and routing complements for Dispatchers and Transportation Managers.
- Provide technical assistance and support for transportation systems, including user updates, data management, and system maintenance.
- Analyze and summarize transportation performance data to inform key business decisions.
- Continuously improve the routing process to reduce miles, improve customer estimated times of arrival, and reduce workload within the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage, or process engineering.
- Knowledge of routing software and fleet tracking systems (PeopleNet experience a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of data management tools, including databases and spreadsheets (SQL, Access, Excel).
- Ability to provide 24/7 transportation systems support.
- Onsite in an office environment.
- Travel required (estimated up to 30%).
