Landscape Architect

Job Description

A Landscape Architect at Excel Engineering Inc works closely with the owner, architectural and engineering teams to thoroughly understand the needs of a project. The individual will be responsible for designing outdoor landscapes for commercial projects. Key skills include producing detailed landscape plans using CAD, GIS and other design software, conducting site visits to review and assess environmental factors and existing conditions, and developing appropriate planting plans and selecting appropriate vegetation for each project. Additional skills needed include the ability to produce space planning diagrams, schematic designs, construction drawings, 3D sketches and renderings. An understanding of codes and their application, construction methods, and architectural drawings is essential to this position. Revit, CAD and GIS knowledge is required as much time is spent producing plans, schedules, elevations and details. Interaction with clients, consultants, and contractors and occasional site visits are additional responsibilities of the Landscape Architect.

Requirements

• Education – Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field is required.
• Licensure – Required.
