Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Respiratory Care Services
    • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians
    • Conduct pulmonary function tests, including spirometry and blood gas analysis
    • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care planning
  • Maintain Patient Records
    • Accurately document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and test results
    • Ensure timely and complete reporting of patient data to healthcare team
  • Stay Current with Clinical Knowledge
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new technologies
    • Apply evidence-based guidelines and research findings to improve patient care
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Care
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Healthcare Provider CPR certification
    • Current Montana RCP license
  • Other Minimum Qualifications
    • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care within six (6) months of employment
    • Additional Qualifications for Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) I Hospital
    • ACLS, PALS, & NRP certification within 2 years of employment
