CT Technologist Job Summary

Brockton Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans on patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform CT examinations on patients, ensuring the use of adult/pediatric protocols and maintaining patient safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Review radiology imaging requisitions, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, answer questions, and refer to other personnel as needed.
  • Follow HIPAA standards to maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to obtain high-quality images.
  • Use proper shielding and radiation protection techniques to minimize patient exposure.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to suggest alternative exams that reduce radiation exposure.
  • Participate in training new personnel on CT scanner operation and related equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, performing preventative maintenance and contacting repair services as needed.
  • Follow PACS workflow procedures to ensure quality, proper identification, and completeness of examinations.
  • Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shifts.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory, restocking supplies, and utilizing the kanban system.
  • Participate in daily huddles, problem-solving, and staff meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program in an AMA-approved school.
  • ARRT and advanced CT registration with a valid Massachusetts state license and evidence of continuing education.
  • Siemens experience is preferred.
