Job Summary

As an Emergency Nurse at St. Bernards Medical Center, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. Under general supervision, you will deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver care to patients with various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention
  • Recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
  • Effectively interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
  • Maintains BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (ACLS, PALS within 6 months of hire, TNCC within 1 year of hire)
  • One year of medical surgical nursing experience preferred

Occasional sitting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, bending. Lifting 50 lbs or more. Pushing up to 300 lbs. Must be able to see and hear clearly. May face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases. In addition, they treat patients that may be confused, irrational, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
