Responsibilities- Evaluate patients with burn and wound care needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide effective therapy sessions.
- Document patient progress and billing accurately and efficiently.
- Support the orientation and training of new staff members, students, and volunteers.
- Participate in clinical education by mentoring PT/PTA students.
- May be assigned to other specialty areas within the PM&R department, requiring adaptability and competence in various areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Hold a Doctorate degree from an accredited physical therapist program.
- Apply the principles of Physical Therapy in accordance with the Texas State Practice Act and the APTA Code of Ethics.
- Perform technical procedures with precision and skill.

This role involves close interactions with various stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, patients, and support personnel. The ability to adapt to changing schedules and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.

Physical DemandsThis position requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of patients. The ability to communicate clearly and hear patients' needs is crucial. Indoor equipment may include medical devices, gym equipment, and audiovisual tools.
Environmental ConditionsThis role is primarily indoors, with varying temperatures. The therapist may be exposed to communicable diseases, irritating chemicals, or sprays. Long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, are possible.
