Job Overview

A leading reference laboratory in the Cleveland area is seeking a Special Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor to join their team. This evening shift role (4:00 pm to 12:30 am) comes with rotating weekends and offers a competitive salary range of $75,000-95,000, plus a sign-on bonus of $7,500-10,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer laboratory operations, including policy development and implementation, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Supervise laboratory supervisors, clinical staff, and support staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Develop and maintain medical laboratory equipment performance, ensuring staff compliance and certifying instrument performance.
  • Maintain medical laboratory supplies inventory, anticipating needed supplies and ensuring laboratory productivity.
  • Participate in the hospital quality assurance program, consulting with pathologists and performing proficiency surveys.
  • Maintain medical laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees, counseling, reviewing/evaluating, and disciplining employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biology.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • 4-6 years of clinical lab experience in high-complexity testing lab.
