You will set clear goals for lessons, units, and projects while ensuring effective communication with students, colleagues, and families under the guidance of the school administration.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Jersey Department of Education certification for Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) or a valid Standard, CEAS, or CE: Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification, ideally with an Elementary Education K-6, Middle School, or subject area certification, preferably in Science or English Language Arts.
- Commitment to maintaining high educational standards.
- Ability to design and implement tailored lessons for individuals and groups based on student performance data.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with fellow educators, service providers, and families.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and participation in professional development opportunities.
- Contributions to fostering a positive educational environment.
- Advanced skills in classroom management and behavior intervention.
- Experience working with adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum is highly valued.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred but not mandatory.
