About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President to join our Global Data, Intellectual Property, Technology & Innovation (DITI) Team within BNY's Legal Department. This role will be hybrid and located in Pittsburgh or New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on the strategy, planning, and implementation of BNY's technology projects and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal colleagues to advise on the development and deployment of digital products and services.
  • Draft agreement templates and provide support with client negotiations in collaboration with business product attorneys.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments in the financial services sector involving technology/emerging technologies and advise senior stakeholders on their potential impact to BNY and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide legal support in responding to regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Advise on open-source software use, ensuring compliance with licenses, mitigating risks, and safeguarding BNY's intellectual property.
  • Develop and lead training programs to educate various stakeholders on technology/emerging technology-related legal issues.
  • Collaborate with public affairs, regulatory, and regional colleagues to engage in the review and consultation of legislative policies and proposals related to technology.
Requirements
  • 3-7 years' experience in a related field.
  • A strong working knowledge of technology laws.
  • Knowledge of emerging technology developments and use cases in the financial services sector is desirable.
  • In-house counsel experience is preferred.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Must be articulate, organized, and able to work in a collaborative manner.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Proactive self-starter.
