Job Title: RN Weekender Flex - Neuro ICU

Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute is a state-of-the-art facility that provides world-class care to complex neurological medical and surgical patients. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Neuro ICU, you will play a vital role in the care of our patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

The Neuro ICU on G20/H22 provides care to patients with diagnoses such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders, and spinal injuries. As a Weekender Flex RN, you will work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week, enjoying personal time during the week with family and friends.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs
  • Educate patients and their families
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of employment
  • One year of current acute care RN experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
