Objective: Responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the facility and ensuring that all machinery, utilities, and structures are maintained effectively. This role encompasses addressing welding, plumbing, and electrical challenges that may arise within the plant, as well as managing essential plant systems such as air compressors and related equipment. The position also involves executing daily and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal plant functionality while supervising and organizing the schedules of departmental staff.
Primary Duties:
- Conduct daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Manage inventory for maintenance supplies and procure necessary materials for routine and upcoming maintenance tasks.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain proper working conditions for all machinery and tools.
- Collaborate with external contractors for larger maintenance projects as needed.
- Install new equipment and dismantle outdated machinery when required.
- Provide training to operators on the proper use of equipment.
- Complete monthly preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure the maintenance of machines and lifts meets established standards.
- Supervise department employees and any vendors engaged in maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office Suite and Limble.
Work Environment:
- This position primarily operates within a manufacturing facility, though some projects may necessitate outdoor work.
- Familiarity with operating various machines and equipment within the facility is essential.
- The role requires prolonged periods of standing and the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is mandatory, ensuring that all contractors and service providers adhere to the facility's guidelines before entering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced or technical degree preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in maintenance or a manufacturing setting is required.
- Certifications: Electrical and HVAC certifications are advantageous.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Capability to work effectively in a team setting while also being able to manage independent projects.
- Proficient in understanding, implementing, and enforcing GMP and safety standards.
- Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
This role may require overtime and weekend work as necessary. Candidates must successfully pass a background check, physical examination, and drug screening.
