Paraprofessional Assistant

Job Summary:

Big Horn County School District #1 is seeking a Paraprofessional Assistant to support our instructional team in providing a high-quality education to our students. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a certified staff member to assist with students in the classroom, reinforcing reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist and guide students in small groups and individually to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
Work with professional staff to administer and correct classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
Construct, copy, and distribute educational materials as needed.

Requirements:

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.
Ability to understand, apply, and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel) and basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to a high school graduate, meet the requirements for serving as a paraeducator, and possess proficiency in typing, filing, computer skills, and general clerical skills.
