College for Creative Studies is a non-profit institution; it is one of the leading art and design colleges in the world. CCS is ranked by LinkedIn as a top three design school in the US and the best in the Midwest, based on alumni success. CCS has state-of-the-art facilities to support the complete range of creative production, from traditional art forms such as painting, glassblowing, foundry, and printmaking, to the most contemporary systems, including the latest digital imaging technology and extensive rapid prototyping output tools. The College currently enrolls more than 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students, approximately 7% of whom are international students from more than 30 countries. CCS offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 13 majors: Advertising, Communication Design, Entertainment Arts: Animation, Concept Design, Game, Fashion Design, Film, Illustration, Interdisciplinary Art + Design, Interior Design, Photography, Product Design, Studio Art & Crafts, and Transportation Design and an Art Education Teacher Certification program. It also offers a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in four majors: Art Education, Color and Materials Design, Interdisciplinary Design Studies, Transportation Design, and User Experience Design.

About the Role

The Instructional Technologist plays a vital role in supporting faculty and students by integrating technology into the learning environment. This position focuses on enhancing teaching and learning experiences through the strategic implementation of tools and platforms within Canvas, the College's Learning Management System (LMS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and support to faculty on integrating Google and Adobe tools within Canvas.
  • Develop and deliver professional development workshops and training sessions for faculty and students on utilizing technology effectively in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design and implement innovative online and hybrid learning experiences that leverage technology to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in educational technology, and evaluate their potential impact on teaching and learning at CCS.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standards, processes, and resources related to online and hybrid learning at CCS.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of instructional design principles, educational technology, and best practices for online learning. Experience with Canvas LMS, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite is essential. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are also required.
