We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the operative team in delivering perioperative nursing care, ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of patients from pre-operative to post-operative care.
- Perform a range of surgical technician skills, including basic and specific skills related to the role, under the guidance of the RN and Surgeon.
- Assist in the development of surgeon-specific preference cards and maintain a safe patient care environment.
- Respond to real or simulated emergency situations according to established procedure and demonstrate competency in the utilization of specified equipment required for patient care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain a high level of knowledge and skills through continuing education and other learning experiences.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an approved program for OR Technologists or minimum three years experience as a Surgery Technologist
- Certification as an Operating Room Technologist, if not current, must be obtained within six months of hire/transfer
- CPR issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
