POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) plays a crucial role within the Patient Care Services Team, ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by the healthcare team. The RN is responsible for managing and executing patient care activities for a designated group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services. The RN's role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, education, and oversight.
Key Responsibilities of the DMC RN:
• Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care effectively.
• Assign and oversee patient care tasks to team members.
• Monitor patient progress and facilitate discharge preparations.
• Report directly to senior management and engage in shared decision-making processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
3. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
4. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
