Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and pick up freight from warehouses, stores, industrial plants, railroad yards, and small businesses.
  • Verify freight with shipping papers and maintain accurate records.
  • Drive to specified locations, adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, state and local driving laws, and hazardous material regulations.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety defects before and after each trip.
  • Maintain a Driver's Daily log according to Federal regulations.
  • Interact with customers when delivering or receiving freight or collecting payment for goods delivered.
