Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join our close-knit team at Detroit Recovery Project, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) providing outpatient recovery support services for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Detroit Recovery Project, Inc. (DRP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a healthy recovery ecosystem for those seeking long-term recovery. Our program philosophy focuses on treating the whole person through integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral healthcare.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will work under general supervision in an outpatient setting, playing a crucial role in patient care, encompassing diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Responsibilities include educating patients on preventive care, administering prescribed treatments, conducting physicals, ordering tests, and serving as the primary healthcare provider within a collaborative treatment team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical examinations and determine the need for x-rays and laboratory tests for new and existing patients.
  • Interpret examination findings and test results, implementing and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
  • Gather patient data through interviews, preparing and reviewing comprehensive case histories.
  • Deliver holistic healthcare to entire family units, covering preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.
  • Collaborate with healthcare practitioners for outpatient and inpatient care, participating in on-site clinical procedures.
  • Assist in medical care treatments directed by specialists, determines the need for consultations.
  • Instruct healthcare providers and non-medical personnel on various health topics, including first-aid measures, basic and advanced cardiac life support, and healthcare maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Active state license and DEA license in good standing
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner (Physical Health and/or Psych experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
  • A valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver's License and insurance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
