This role involves monitoring hemodynamic status, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

About the Role
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Monitor and manage patients' hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs using advanced monitoring equipment.
  • Administer medications, including vasoactive medications, inotropes, and sedatives, to maintain hemodynamic stability.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in intensive care, cardiac care, or CVICU and possess a strong understanding of critical care principles and practices. They will also be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities
  1. Provide post-surgical care, including wound care, chest tube management, and monitoring for complications such as arrhythmias, heart failure, or infections.
  2. Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  3. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, medications, and discharge planning.
  4. Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations, initiating interventions such as resuscitation or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
  • Licensure:
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
