Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Current RN or LPN licensure in New Mexico
  • Proven experience in IV therapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities
  • IV Administration: Initiate, oversee, and terminate IV infusions while adhering to precise and sterile procedures.
  • Patient Evaluation: Evaluate patients' needs for IV access, including vein selection and catheter placement.
  • Medication Oversight: Prepare and administer IV medications, fluids, and electrolytes according to physician directives.
  • Monitoring: Continuously observe patients for any adverse reactions or complications, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
  • Record Keeping: Meticulously document all IV therapy activities, patient responses, and any changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families regarding IV therapy processes, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement personalized care plans.
