Epidemiology Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and innovative scholar to join our Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of infectious disease epidemiological research and a demonstrated ability to develop a research program that includes a laboratory component focused on one or more viral pathogens within a population health context, nationally or globally.

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on infectious disease epidemiology, with a focus on viral pathogens and global health.
• Develop and teach graduate-level courses in epidemiology and infectious disease research.
• Contribute to the development of research proposals and grants, and secure external funding to support research projects.
• Collaborate with faculty members and researchers across the University of Michigan and other institutions to advance the goals of the Department of Epidemiology.

• Ph.D. in Epidemiology or a related field.
• Strong track record of research productivity and a demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty members and researchers across disciplines.

• Experience working with biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) pathogens.
• Research focus on the epidemiology and transmission of viral pathogens, vector-borne diseases, emerging viral infections, immunology, and/or global health.
