Optician Specialist

The Optician is a key member of our team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible eyewear solutions. As an Optician, you will work closely with our optometrists to determine the needs of each patient and provide personalized recommendations for eyewear.

• Determine the reason for each patient's visit and identify their lifestyle needs
• Deliver recommendations for eyewear needs based on the patient's prescription
• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescription
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit customer needs
• Take measurements, assist patients with adjustments, and troubleshoot and dispense eyewear
• Ensure correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes to patients
• Provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet and exceed patient expectations
• Clean and merchandise displays daily
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders
• Document all patient communication in patient records

• One to two years of experience in a related field
• Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized optician association as an optician
• Working knowledge of MS Office package
• Demonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and be available for incoming calls and inquiries
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills
• Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needs
• Proven problem-solving, negotiations, and decision-making skills

The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. There are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
