Lead Ground Software Developer

Mission-critical software development is at the heart of our Ground and Mission Control Systems. As a Ground & Mission Control Software Developer at Millennium Space Systems, A Boeing Company, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, integrating, testing, and delivering complete software and hardware solutions to our customers. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our space-based systems, from launch to on-orbit operations.
Key Responsibilities- Define requirements for ground software and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Interact directly with customers to validate software and systems meet mission requirements, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional results.
- Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and delivery of large-scale ground software and mission control systems, leveraging your technical expertise to drive innovation.
- Collaborate with other Millennium staff to support testing on components, subsystems, and spacecraft in test configurations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of system performance.
- Integrate Millennium software applications into Government-furnished software and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Execute integrated system test events, bridging Millennium-developed products and Government-furnished systems to validate system functionality.
- Implement specific mission data processing applications into existing systems to support payloads and end data users, driving data-driven decision-making.
- Support ground software and systems during on-orbit activities, including launch, early operations, on-orbit test, normal operations, and end-of-life operations, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Support proposals for new ground software and systems in support of new business efforts, leveraging your technical expertise to drive business growth.
- Support software testing and installation in classified environments, adhering to strict security protocols and ensuring system integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years of experience designing and developing ground software and ground systems, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- Demonstrated experience writing software applications in Python, C++, and C, with a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience working with relational databases, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
- Comfortable communicating technical details verbally and in writing, with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Experience with iterative and agile software development, with a strong understanding of software development methodologies and tools.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Math, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
