Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.

Job Summary:
  • Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Collect and process blood and other bodily fluids for testing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient testing.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
  • Collect and process blood and other bodily fluids for testing, including phlebotomy and specimen handling.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner, including documenting patient information and test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other laboratory personnel, to ensure accurate and efficient testing.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
