Job Overview: Brookings County is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Correctional Officer to join our team. As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of inmates and staff within the Detention Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor inmates during transportation and daily activities
  • Enforce Detention Center policies and procedures
  • Assist with inmate intake and release processes
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • No experience necessary, but prior law enforcement or corrections experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
