Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician II

OSF HealthCare is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and recording two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations using ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations using advanced equipment and techniques to obtain high-quality images and data.
  • Record and document patient information, examination results, and any relevant findings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the need for additional imaging tests and to discuss examination results.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, including answering patient questions and addressing concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in diagnostic ultrasound technology and techniques.
Requirements:
  • Registered as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered as a Vascular Technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
  • One specific certification required (Abdomen - AB, Breast - BR, Fetal Echocardiography - FE, Obstetrics and Gynecology - OB/GYN, or Registered Vascular Technologist - RVT) to be determined by OSF Entity need.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented and accurate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 18 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
