Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at San Joaquin Delta College. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair functions to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and skilled maintenance functions, including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and electrical work.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance on pumps, air compressors, and other equipment.
  • Remodel and alter District facilities, including removing furniture, cabinets, and walls, and installing new fixtures and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain swimming pools, including ensuring proper water temperature, acid/base balance, and cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including forklifts and welding equipment.
  • Order and pick up supplies from local vendors.
  • Provide assistance in various other maintenance areas or departments as required.
Requirements
  • Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent supplemented by specialized training in building, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or a related area.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
  • Forklift certification.
